Pathways to new medicine discovery

Jonathan Clayden, Professor of Organic Chemistry, University of Bristol

Professor Jonathan Clayden was at the 17th Brazilian Meeting on Organic Synthesis (BMOS) in Salvador, Bahia, addressing the pathways for the discovery of drugs. His research deals with the construction of molecules with defined forms and how synthetic organic chemists seek the action of some molecules in nature and try to reproduce it in the laboratory in greater quantity. This allows, among other things, the discovery of new medicine.
